Long ending

So I am going to vent for a second.
I am now at the end of pregnancy. I am almost 38 weeks. I had a doctor's appt on Wednesday afternoon and she informed me my baby should be here in a couple of days. Then yesterday I started having steady contractions, but nothing progressed passed 5-10 min intervals. Waiting is HARD. I want to get started on this whole active labor thing, but I guess I should be grateful for a couple days of rest and relaxation before the baby comes. I just expect him here any moment and he's taking his sweet time.
It is also extremely HOT.  91 degrees today, and I'm sweating in my 70 degree house. This baby is WARM. I know I should get out and do stuff, but I'm being a bum and sitting inside feeling sorry for myself that my labor isn't progressing.
It is mentally challenging, and I know I should be grateful, I'm fully effaced at 38 weeks, so I'll probably have him soon and get to skip the last couple weeks of being pregnant, its the not knowing that's magical and dreadful all at once. I'm ANXIOUS. So that's where I am.
Hope you all are enjoying your summer Friday.
I need to get out of this funk.

Today

Waiting for a baby to come, not mine.

Needing to CLEAN

Wanting to READ

Started watching Downton Abbey.

Feeling my little guy kicking all the time now. Not sure when he even sleeps.

Wanting to go straight back to bed.

Feeling ill prepared for everything baby related.

Words with Friends is still my favorite game.

Invisible Children

KONY 2012 from INVISIBLE CHILDREN on Vimeo.

Please take a half hour and watch this video. Then share it! I have been involved with Invisible Children in small ways over the last 5 years and this is an amazing opportunity to see real change come about for people that have no way of protecting themselves. Children are dying mercilessly and being used in disgusting ways and it HAS TO STOP. Please be a part of this life changing difference. Yes, it's 1000s of miles away from me as I sit here in my comfortable home, but let's not just let this leave us unaffected. Let's tell the world.

21 weeks

We've made it over half way. It's pretty unreal. I've been sick pretty much every morning and most nights, but I got some nausea meds that are helping quite a bit. Today has actually been the first day I haven't had to take them and I'm feeling decent so far! My belly has really popped out in the last couple weeks. Its so amazing to watch it grow knowing there is a baby BOY in there. Yup, we found out in our ultrasound last week that we're having a boy. I'm excited to have a little man around!

In other news I'm super anxious for warm weather and SUN. So to speed that up a little, Rach and I are headed to California next week on a girl's trip. I'm so excited to see the ocean and spend time with my best bud. Should be wonderful. Hopefully I'll snap a few photos along the way. Happy Sunday Afternoon.

Not so new

I kind of like to avoid the fact that its a new year, because then I won't have to feel the guilt of not making any goals or plans. This new year didn't really feel like anything new to me and we didn't do anything special to celebrate so it just slipped by. I think I'll mark my new year by when I have my baby. Man, that sounds so weird to say. I've started getting a belly and mostly it just looks like I ate too many burritos. Hopefully it takes more of a 'baby' form soon enough.

I hope Caleb and I can have a few get away's before you-know-who arrives. We already have one little one planned! We're going down to Zion's National park and staying at a lodge there for a 3 day weekend. I'm kind of beside myself in excitement to have a weekend away from life and to enjoy the outdoors, snow storm or not.

After having a 3 month break from music, Caleb and I are doing an all worship night at church this Friday. I think it will be very refreshing to be playing again, atleast for 6 months then we'll reevaluate again.

Also, my dogs can howl, its really endearing and hard to capture on film

News

Wow, well, I'm pregnant!! 11 weeks along. I'm getting very interested in this new journey. I can't believe in 7ish months I'm gonna have a baby in my hands. I'm just trying to get use to the fact that a little someone is growing inside of my right now. It truly is a miracle that I've never been more aware of.
Cheers to a new year of new baby adventures for me!

3 Day Weekend

I love an unexpected 3 day weekend. Who really doesn't? Hopefully I'll be able to finish crocheting my scarf and make a big batch of chicken and dumplings for everyone who wants to hang out tonight.

I also need to take my dogs on a much needed run. With this cold front that's come in this week all I've wanted to do is eat, and I need to finally brave the weather for my furry friends and get some of that insane energy pent up inside of them - OUT.

Few photos as of lately. I found a recipe for UNBELIEVABLE homemade Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Very addictive especially with homemade whipped cream! Also started an art project and last week enjoyed the fall colors. Made a delicious chicken pot pie and tried wearing red lipstick.
Good couple of weeks.

normal musings

My friend grows mint. She grows chocolate mint, Moroccan mint, and spearmint. I imagine going into her backyard of overgrown mint bushes and just breathing in the unbelievable flavors, I mean, who really knew you could grow chocolate mint right out of the garden.

I finished packing. I leave in 7 days. Usually I'm not this on top of it, but going to Europe for 18 days is a huge step and I really want to make sure I have the right outfits. I want to look cool, but I have to wear each shirt 2 times so I have to make sure its not a shirt that shows off pit stains. Yup, that's what kept me busy this morning.

Today is my day off and tomorrow I go back to work. Everyone will be saying thank goodness it's Friday and I'll feel kinda bad I already got a break to get me through the week, but it's short lived as I remind myself we all made a choice to work part-time or full time and eventually I'm make myself useful enough to deserve my part-time.

I think about being creative and "Scrubs" always wins over. But I'm not that sad about it because I'd rather see what JD and Turk are up to instead of figuring out my own life.

We went to Rhode Island with Caleb's family and then we went to Coalville, Ut with my family. I like both places a lot. If we could combine them they might be perfect.

See what I mean?

Saturday Night

I know I'm still a little bit of the person I used to be. Just can't let it slip away. Yeah I sit around a lot more than I used to but now I have a house to take care of and a husband and dogs. We can still jump in lakes late at night and enjoy the thrill even if we come home to more routine and a dirty house.

13.1

I did it! I ran a half marathon. It was last Saturday and my legs are still recovering! It felt good, well up until the last few miles. My awesome hubs, our pups and a couple friends came to support me and run the last little bit with me. It was much needed. Even though I was in a crowd of 1500 people running down a mountain it was actually quite peaceful with my ipod in. I was enjoying the scenery and people watching to keep my mind occupied. After it was all finished I assumed I'd have this huge feeling of pride and accomplishment, but it didn't feel like such a big feat once I had done it. I feel like anyone could run that race if they decided to train for a couple months. I'm still really glad I did it and I wouldn't mind doing another one next year. My mom was talking about maybe doing it so I'd love to do it with her and my dad! Anyway, I'm glad its finished and that I enjoyed it.

We played at the downtown church that night and then has Este pizza. I love Este and good friends. Good new friends and good old ones. I'm glad for the diversity of people I get to hang out with. God is up to something in my life and I'm trying to look at life in a new light and start enjoying the small pleasures, like a genuine conversation, or the fact I can walk 10 min from my house and feel like I'm on a farm and stare out past a huge field to see a glorious sunset.

This week I have dates to hang out with two of my closest friends that I rarely get to see. It's worth the 45 min drive to be able to pour your heart out and find out what's been going on in life the past year really. I've never been good at long distance relationships. Even short distance relationships.

Point to Point

It's where you pick a spot somewhere in the distance, long or short, and then you need to get to that spot going in a straight line. Whether that means over buildings, climbing trees, forging rivers, etc. You don't take the easy way out, you just go from point A to point B in a straight line.

So who's with me? I wanna try it.

Life Lately

Man, I haven't been on here in forever. A LOT has been going on. Life is in full swing. And strangely enough, I don't feel too overwhelmed. I guess now is as good a time as any to live life to the full.

I am in my first official week of part time work, and man, it feels so good. I feel so blessed that I am able to work this schedule and BEYOND excited about starting new projects, including adding another member to our family! And by that I mean another dog! haha. Hopefully that will be happening in the next few weeks or so.

Almost two weeks ago we went to Denver to play an outreach show for the Firehouse Church. Us and one other band from the Rock Music went and it was so encouraging. Caleb is in the process of making a video about our trip, so I'll share once he's finished.

Caleb and I have been trying to focus on getting our backyard 'people friendly'. Its been neglected for so long, including before we moved in. We have TONS of work to get it to a good place. With help from our awesome friends, Brent and Jen, we've been able to clear out tons of weeds, and PLANT a garden. I am excited to see if it will live and hopefully bear fruit. Jen and I are doing this as a joint venture and we both can't wait to eat fresh veggies! One thing I do love is my flowers. They are unbelievable.

This week we have been hard at work prepping to make a live album. 5 bands from The Rock Music will be on it and really the goal of the night is to have an amazing, authentic night of worship with our church body of 1000+ people crying out to God. Then hopefully we'll have some good recordings to release a live album of the night. Its not like anything we've done before. Also we're partnering with Come and Live, a national group of musicians dedicating their music to God. It's exciting to have The Rock Music out on a national level.
Today is a rainy, dreary day. Its nice to be able to slow down and get some things done and organized indoors today. Next week we're off to California with 6 other friends to enjoy the beach and good company. I can't wait.

Storm

The thunder is loud. I can't wait for the downpour. It's cleansing. I just don't want it to snow on my tulips. They deserve more than that. They shouldn't have to hide who they are. We shouldn't hide who we are. I can hear tiny drops on the roof. I must live in a house built of tin. More thunder. We shouldn't hide who we are, but it's so tempting.
