Mustering up the inspiration to start the day. Coffee, Bible, a sleepy puppy, sunshine, and ipod on shuffle are definitely great ways to start the day. Hoping to go recycle tons of boxes we have left over from moving today. I've never been to the recycling center in Lindon, so I'm kinda of excited. Its the simple things right. ha. I'm also excited to go to DI with my hubby and hopefully find some treasures, especially some boots for playing in the snow and water proof snow gear. I'm super excited, and maybe some treasures for crafts and decorating the house. I'm really hoping to get a sewing machine soon, I want to make curtains first off and then see what else I can try to put together. Who knows what else will happen today, I'm just excited for a day partially unplanned, it seems they are few and far between.

Have a great weekend!

winter walks

Lucy is just starting to like going on walks. She was so scared to even walk out of the house the first few days of having her, but I think she's really start to enjoy it, especially if the ducks aren't talking to her (:

Jan 28th

There are just so many new things everyday. Things don't stop being new at any point. By that I mean everyday its something different, a new discover, good or bad, something I haven't thought on, or something I havent' realized. Its a path I haven't taken, a difficulty I never conquered, a sight I never realized existed. Maybe a book I haven't read, a verse I never looked closely at, a friend I didn't realize was hurting. I feel so oblivious to small things, or big things. I just walk around eyes looking at the task ahead instead of taking everything in around me. Taking in the good, or the bad, just taking IT in ya know? Its hard for me to do. I get zoned in on my job, or chores, or cooking, church, it doesn't matter, but the normal things that have to be done and forget the gift of every breath I take, or snow covered grass, or a river just minutes from my house. I forget to see how the people around me are doing, I just assume they must be fine because they're doing the daily grind right next to me, but if I really stopped to take a walk with them, to hear their ideas, struggles, dreams, I might open my eyes to humanity alittle more, I might be able to actually love people as Jesus does if I just opened my eyes and forgot about all the deadlines for a second.

Caleb and I are so excited! We have a new little friend in the house now! Her name is Lucy. I saw her online through a place called Ruffpatch. They take animals that are on the euthanization list and put them in foster homes until they can be adopted. I don't know how this little sweetheart was ever abandoned, but I'm glad she came to us! We're excited to share life with this pretty little lady.

monday monday

Our neighbors are so sweet. We got some foaming hand soap, lotion and a card from 2 neighbors. I'm really excited to get to know them. I wish we could have a bbq and have them over, the rain might not be all for that though.
I'm trying to find good recipes and craft projects lately. If anyone knows good places to look let me know.
Today is a day I wish I was at home in bed, but that's not the plan, so HERE WE GO!

Today is a good day! I'm excited to get a new tattoo today.

I'm thinking to do it in a color scheme kind of like this. Which is your favorite color on here?
Its for a starfish.
Anyone doing something fresh and new today?

Psalm 119:37
Turn my eyes from worthless things and give me life through your word.

I thought of a couple more goals for the New Year as well.

  • Live in gratitude. Live life in a state of thankfulness instead of selfishness. Constantly reminding myself to stay in a state of appreciation to Jesus for his saving grace instead of assuming my rights and priviledges.
  • Cook!!! Learn how to cook for cheap and yet keep it healthy!
  • Write a paragraph of what my goal(s) in life are.
  • Get a puppy and train it. That gonna be quite a task!

goodbye weekend.

Man, Monday morning. It was a good weekend. Saw dear friends for Colorado, enjoyed running fun errands with my sweetheart on Saturday and going to Collin's show for his band Milburn Packets. Check them out, they're definitely awesome, of course I am a bit biased, but I'm being honest. Sunday was spent sleeping in, grocery shopping and making mom's gravy!! I was so excited to give this a try, because practically every one of Caleb's favorite recipes includes this sauce. So thanks Ann for teaching me how! It is delicious and we made a giant batch to freeze some for later. Then after that a good ol' game of journey to Jupiter with good friends Chi, Dev, Tylor, Jessica and Troy. That was about it with doing laundry stuck sporadically in there somewhere. Goes by too fast.
Can anyone tell me how to add more hours in the day? Man, I'd love that.

goals for an apprehensive heart.

I don't know why I'm not so stoked on the new year. I am. Just not with goals I guess. I'm just lazy apparently. I have goals, but I feel like I don't do much for them, unfortunately. Maybe if I list them physically it would help. So that it what I will try.
1. Love my husband more, be kinder to him and ENCOURAGE him. Don't expect him to do things for me constantly and when he does thank him. Acknowledge his efforts.
2. Paint. Sew. Find time to BE creative, even if its stupid stuff. Spend more time creating less time surfing the internet.
3. Keep this journal. Write it in atleast a few times a month and try to record the amazing things God is doing in Provo.
4. Pray. Pray everyday and pray for my husband and WITH my husband as well every week.
5. Love woman. Deeply.

These a few on my heart at this time. I need to figure out how I'll implement them.
